General Description
Westside Food Bank, a non-profit social service organization, is seeking a part-time Development Assistant. WSFB distributes more than 5 million pounds of food yearly to nearly 60 non-profit social service agencies and is expanding services with the increase in local need. The Development Assistant is part of the Development Department and will support Westside Food Bank’s Development Strategist, Senior Development Manager, and Senior Development & Communications Coordinator. This is a non-exempt, hourly, hybrid position. The Development Assistant works under the general supervision of the Development Strategist, reports directly to the Senior Development Manager, and works cooperatively with other departments.
Position Overview
The Development Assistant is an essential support role within Westside Food Bank’s Development Department. This position ensures smooth daily operations through database management, donor acknowledgments, event support, and administrative coordination. The Development Assistant will maintain accurate donor records, ensure timely donor stewardship, and support communications and fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management & Gift Processing:
- Accurately enter all donor contributions and in-kind gifts into Bloomerang.
- Prepare and send acknowledgement letters and donor receipts in a timely manner.
- Reconcile donations with the Finance department monthly.
- Update donor profiles, resolve duplicate records, and maintain data integrity.
- Upload volunteer and donor data from multiple sources including Classy, Qgiv, Facebook, PayPal, and Stripe.
- Maintain login credentials for platforms and update shared documentation.
- Create custom reports and dashboards to monitor fundraising performance trends for all appeals/campaigns and events.
Donor Stewardship:
- Produce personalized thank-you letters, including for tribute gifts and stock donations.
- Assist in making thank-you calls to first-time donors.
- Monitor and respond to donor inquiries, resolving issues professionally and courteously.
Fundraising & Campaign Support:
- Support appeal mailings by preparing lists, materials, and documentation.
- Assist with the entry of campaign codes and tracking for digital appeals.
- Maintain organized digital files for campaign performance and invoices.
Event Support:
- Assist with Hunger Walk logistics including supply inventory, registration tracking, and packing event materials.
- Provide administrative and event support for community events and third-party fundraisers.
- Help with setup, volunteer check-in, and day-of logistics for key events.
Communications & Marketing Support:
- Help format and send email newsletters and e-blasts.
- Proofread print and digital communications.
- Assist in creating flyers and promotional materials using templates.
Administrative & Team Support:
- Attend weekly team meetings and other meetings as necessary.
- Maintain organized filing systems and support coordination of development calendars.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit development preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems such as Bloomerang.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, project management software, etc.
- Proficiency in online graphic design tools such as Canva.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time, non-exempt, hourly 25 hours/week at $27/hour.
- The position is hybrid with in person days reporting to our offices in Santa Monica.
- Monday-Friday, 5 hours a day, with flexibility.
- Occasional evenings/weekends (up to 10/year) required.
- Mileage reimbursement available.

Westside Food Bank, a non-profit social service organization, is seeking a full-time driver to assist with our provision of food. WSFB distributes nearly 5 million pounds of food yearly to over 55 social service agencies and is expanding our direct distribution. The Driver is part of the warehouse team and will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience in safely driving a class C truck. In addition, the candidate should be familiar or willing to learn general warehouse operations, including order picking, using a warehouse management system (WMS), and operating forklifts and pallet jacks. The candidate will be expected to assist with our direct distributions and should be comfortable interacting with volunteers and the general public in a professional manner. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload company truck with forklifts and pallet jacks
- Drive company truck to pick up and deliver food and run errands
- Manage set up and break down of mobile food distributions
- Assist with vehicle maintenance
- Pick food orders for distribution to agencies using barcode scanner
- Palletize food for distribution after picking
- Assist with receiving food deliveries and donations
- Assist with keeping accurate records for distributions and warehouse operations
- Other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Class C driver’s license with clean driving record
- 2+ years driving experience with 26 ft box trucks
- General warehouse experience, food industry experience a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for a consistent length of time
- Ability and willingness to do hard manual tasks
- Must have superb attention to detail and ability to distinguish between similar products
- Must be able to accurately count items
- Ability to learn and use warehouse management system and barcode scanners
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
- Ability to communicate via e-mail, Slack, other online communication tools
- Class C driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain food handler certification
- Positive, friendly team player, ability to interact well with the public
- Customer service experience a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- This position has a regular work schedule from 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends (less than 15 a year) may be required.
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position at 40 hours per week with salary of $23.50/hr

Westside Food Bank, a non-profit social service organization, is seeking a full-time inventory administrator who will manage our inventory system to a high level of accuracy and develop procedures to ensure effective and efficient food distribution. WSFB distributes over 5 million pounds of food yearly to over 55 social service agencies and is expanding services with the increase in local need. The Inventory Administrator is part of the operations team and will report to the Director of Logistics and Warehousing.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in inventory control and using a warehouse management system (WMS). Superb attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of WSFB’s inventory is required. Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Create prereceipts in WMS for anticipated deliveries
- Ensure all incoming donations and deliveries are entered into WMS
- Scan bills of lading and upload them to document management systems
- Create and photograph new products and edit existing products in WMS
- Assist with receiving product into WMS when other warehouse staff are unavailable
- Ensure all outgoing orders are entered into WMS and signed by agency representatives
- Verify accuracy of data entered by other staff
- Monitor stock level of products and arrange for stock transfers between warehouses as needed
- Anticipate and recommend product restocking according to necessity and budget in conjunction with management
- Confirm stock transfers between warehouses
- Transform product in WMS as needed for volunteer projects
- Communicate with vendors about product issues or discrepancies
- Maintain online ordering system in conjunction with warehouse team and provide customer service to agencies having issues with online ordering system
- Manage agency pickup schedule
- Perform physical counts on inventory and inventory reconciliation on a regular and as –needed basis
- Answer warehouse calls and direct callers to the appropriate staff person
- Conduct TEFAP inventory counts for mobile distributions
- Follow up with and document inventory discrepancies
- Maintain barcode scanning and labeling equipment
- Develop procedures and maintain operations manual for inventory control with assistance from operations team
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with inventory control and using a warehouse management system
- Food industry experience preferred
- Superb attention to detail and ability to distinguish between similar products
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with Slack or other communication tools
- Familiarity with Google Calendar and other GSuite tools
- Basic photo editing skills a plus
- Strong arithmetic skills
- Working knowledge of basic database functions and queries
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to prioritize work based on urgency with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage scheduling for both incoming deliveries and for outgoing orders.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position at 40 hours per week with salary of $30-32/hr
- Position is onsite at Westside Food Bank’s office with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Some flexibility is available for start/end times. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Occasional evenings and weekends (up to 10 per year) may be required
- Mileage will be reimbursed for travel

WSFB distributes nearly 5 million pounds of food yearly to over 55 social service agencies and is expanding our direct distribution. The Mobile Pantry Operator reports to the Director of Logistics and Warehousing and is part of the operations team.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience in safely driving a class C truck and customer service and should be comfortable interacting with clients, volunteers, and the general public in a professional manner. The candidate will need to be comfortable using a warehouse management system (WMS) and keeping records relating to clients and food distribution. In addition, the candidate should be familiar or willing to learn how to operate forklifts and pallet jacks. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
